Green heishi loop earrings
These classic heishi earrings are expertly hand crafted by Marcia Garcia of the Kewa Pueblo tribe in northern New Mexico. Each tiny ‘heishi’ bead of these loop earrings is hand cut, drilled and polished from beautiful green Kingman Arizona turquoise by Marcia. The earrings measure 6.5cm in overall length including the sterling silver ear wires.
The Garcia family expertly hand craft beads in the traditional way of the Kewa Pueblo tribe. Every bead is individually hand cut, drilled and polished from natural materials such as turquoise, coral, pipestone, black jet, serpentine or shell. This once wide spread traditional skill is practised by fewer and fewer members of the tribe with each passing generation.
