Green Turquoise Pendant
The shape of this green turquoise pendant resembles an arrowhead, It is skilfully handmade by Dana Chavez of the Kewa Pueblo tribe in northern New Mexico, USA. This elegant piece of jewellery consists of a gently domed and polished cabochon of Kingman Arizona turquoise, set in sterling silver. The turquoise stone measures 2.5cm x 2cm (3.7cm including bail) and hangs on a 40cm sterling silver chain.
Dana Chavez is the mother of two boys and and two girls. She is the youngest daughter of jewellers Harvey and Janie Chavez. Three generations of the Chavez family have been making jewellery for Rainmaker Gallery for almost thirty years. The Chavez family have been jewellery makers for at least ten generations.
