Kingman Turquoise Pendant
Kingman turquoise pendant handmade by Dana Chavez of the Kewa Pueblo tribe in northern New Mexico, USA. This simple and lovely piece of jewellery consists of a domed, polished cabochon of Kingman Arizona turquoise set in sterling silver. The turquoise stone measures 2.5cm x 2cm (3.5cm including bail) and hangs on a 48cm black leather cord with sterling silver fastener.
Dana Chavez is the mother of two boys and and two girls. She is the youngest daughter of jewellers Harvey and Janie Chavez. Three generations of the Chavez family have been making jewellery for Rainmaker Gallery for almost thirty years. The Chavez family have been jewellery makers for at least ten generations.
