Morenci turquoise pendant
This elegant pendant is set with a rare green Morenci turquoise stone. The design represents a woman from the Taos Pueblo tribe, dressed for ceremony in a blanket or shawl and wearing moccasins. The pendant measures 47mm in height including the sterling silver bail. It hangs on a sterling silver chain 45cm long. This pendant is handmade by Joshua Concha of the Taos Pueblo tribe in Northern New Mexico, USA.
Morenci Turquoise is no longer mined and is consequently very sought after in today’s Turquoise market.
Joshua Krishna Concha is a jeweller from Taos Pueblo. Taos Pueblo is a small Indian village in Northern New Mexico. It is the northern most of the New Mexican Pueblos and was historically a trading place between Plains tribes such as the Comanche and the Puebloan peoples of the Rio Grande Valley.
