Rawhide Feather Earrings, orange
These wonderful rawhide feather earrings are handmade and hand painted by Dominic Arquero of the Cochiti Pueblo tribe. Each feather is painted with designs of lightning and eagle feather and adorned with tiny orange crystals. The feathers are super light weight and signed by the artist. Earrings measure 8cm in length including the silver hooks.
Dominic Arquero and his wife Imogene Good Shot Arquero (Oglala Lakota) have had long careers in the arts. Both having grown up in a world steeped in cultural richness, their work reflects two different tribal heritages combined to create works of art that represent traditional tribal themes.
Dominic was born in Santa Fe NM and received his formal education at the Institute if American Indian Arts and the College of Santa Fe. He then worked as an art instructor at schools in Santa Fe and the District of Columbia and has served as a board member of the Santa Fe Council for the Arts and the Native American Artist Association, Inc.
