These fine sterling silver feather earrings are expertly hand crafted by Harvey Chavez of the Kewa tribe, also known by the Spanish name of Santo Domingo Pueblo in northern New Mexico USA.

The earrings measure 5cm in length and come with two clear rubber french wire ear clutches to ensure that you never inadvertently dislodge and lose your favourite silver feather earrings.

Harvey Chavez makes exquisite feather jewellery, each feather is entirely handmade, skilfully formed from sterling silver, each one unique in size, shape and detail. Every line is individually stamped using a homemade stamp and each silver feather is carefully shaped, polished and signed. As well as feather earrings Harvey and his wife Janie make feather rings, feather pendants, feather bracelets, feather brooches, feather hair clips, feather bolo ties and feather necklaces.

Harvey Chavez also expertly handcrafts beads in the traditional way of his tribe. From tiny heishi beads to fine wafer cuts, every stone is individually hand cut, drilled and polished from natural materials such as turquoise, coral, pipestone, black jet, serpentine or shell. This traditional skill is rapidly disappearing from the tribe.

Harvey Chavez is committed to practising the techniques learned from his parents, grandparents and great grandparents. He has passed these skills to his children and grandchildren in the hope that this knowledge will survive into future generations.
