Summer Blessings

Every August Rainmaker Gallery shuts down for a few weeks whilst I go on my travels. In case any of you were wondering where I go and what I get up to here is a photo that encapsulates a typical moment of my summer trips. This shot, taken by Diné photographer Larry Price, captures one of the many art events that take place during the annual Santa Fe Indian Market. The backdrop is a painting by Tony Abeyta. That’s me second from the left with actress Owee Rae and friends. Good times with good people – feeling blessed 🙂

Along with all the fun and festivities I am in fact working hard everyday. The purpose of my trips is to meet with artists, plan future exhibitions and find treasures for the gallery. Since my return I have been busily photographing finds for the website. You can now view the first of the Zuni fetish carvings with more to follow soon.
